Athletics
Athletics at Austin-East are an important part of what makes us 2800 MADE. Our teams promote the values of hard work, teamwork, perseverance, and citizenship—lessons that extend beyond the classroom and prepare students for success in life. The goal of our athletic program is to help each Roadrunner reach their potential both academically and athletically while fostering personal growth and responsibility.
Student-athletes are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship, maintain attendance, and show respect for peers, faculty, and staff. In line with Knox County Board policy, athletes must be present at school for at least 3 hours and 15 minutes on the day of a game or practice in order to participate.
For those interested in playing sports at the collegiate level, NCAA Clearinghouse registration should begin by the end of sophomore year. Because not all high school courses are NCAA-approved, students are encouraged to review their academic schedules with the Guidance Department early. Additional information and assistance are always available through the Guidance Office
