The Austin-East Dance Company is an auditioned-based company class that allows students to experience dance training at an advanced level in ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop. Students participate in numerous performances both at Austin-East and in the Knoxville community. Auditions for the company are held each school year in May. The Drama Club welcomes all students interested in bringing theatre to life—whether on stage or behind the scenes. Our goal is to foster a love and appreciation for the art of performance and production. Students can share their talents in acting, singing, dancing, designing, or building, while working together to make each show possible.

HOSA is for students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare. Members take part in community service projects throughout the year and have the opportunity to compete in two medical events—one at the regional level and one at the state level. The club also works year-round to raise funds that make these experiences possible.

The International Club brings together students who are passionate about exploring global cultures, traditions, and perspectives. Rooted in the 2800 Made ideals of unity, curiosity, and respect, members celebrate diversity through food, music, and cultural exchange. The club meets biweekly to plan events and create displays that highlight the beauty of every culture represented at Austin-East, fostering inclusion and lasting friendships across the Roadrunner community.

The National Honor Society recognizes students who exemplify the highest ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, and character—the four pillars at the heart of this century-old organization. Rooted in the 2800 Made commitment to excellence and purpose, NHS members strive to grow not only as scholars but as citizens who make lasting, positive impacts within Austin-East and beyond. Through academic achievement, community service, and moral integrity, members of NHS set the standard for what it means to lead with heart, think with purpose, and serve with pride.

The Pink LadyBugs is a sisterhood dedicated to empowering young women to lead with confidence, purpose, and pride. Rooted in the 2800 Made ideals, the group focuses on self-esteem, character building, and leadership development through mentorship, open dialogue, and service. Members meet weekly to uplift one another, celebrate individuality, and grow into strong role models within Austin-East and the greater community. The LadyBugs embody the belief that empowered women empower others.

ProjectLIT is a student-led book club that celebrates the power of reading, storytelling, and community. Members meet monthly to discuss high-interest books that spark conversation, connection, and social awareness. Rooted in the 2800 Made ideals of curiosity, creativity, and leadership, ProjectLIT also organizes schoolwide activities that promote a culture of literacy and inspire a lifelong love of learning among all Roadrunners.

ProjectU is a student-led organization dedicated to spreading kindness, building unity, and creating a culture of positivity at Austin-East. Rooted in the 2800 Made ideals of compassion, inclusivity, and leadership, members design monthly initiatives that promote themes such as bullying prevention, mental health awareness, and everyday acts of encouragement. Through creative campaigns, events, and service projects, ProjectU empowers students to make AE a place where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and proud to belong.

The Student Government Association empowers Austin-East students to lead with purpose, voice, and vision. Rooted in the 2800 Made ideals of being Mindful, Accountable, Determined, and Engaged, SGA members plan and manage a wide range of school events, programs, policies, and initiatives that strengthen campus culture and student involvement. Through collaboration and service, SGA gives every Roadrunner the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and shape the future of Austin-East.

Salon 2800 is a student-run stylist salon that showcases the creativity, skill, and professionalism of Austin-East cosmetology students. Guided by a licensed instructor, members gain hands-on experience practicing on mannequins, peers, and eventually real clients as they work toward completing the hours required for state licensure. Rooted in the 2800 Made ideals of excellence, confidence, and career readiness, Salon 2800 prepares students for success in the beauty industry while promoting self-expression and pride in their craft.

Teens for Christ is open to all students who want to explore the Bible in an encouraging, welcoming space. Each week, members spend a few minutes diving into Scripture and praying for one another, our school, and our world. The only requirement is a curiosity about Jesus.

The 865 Student Ambassadors are leaders who represent the excellence, pride, and purpose of Austin-East High School and the 865 Academies. Rooted in the 2800 Made ideals, Ambassadors work to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every student feels seen, supported, and valued. They serve as the bridge between students, staff, and community partners, helping new Roadrunners transition into high school life and promoting active participation in school culture. Through mentoring, outreach, and service, Ambassadors model integrity, unity, and leadership—strengthening the Austin-East legacy both inside and beyond the classroom.
